Milk Specialties Global (MSG), one of the nation’s largest providers of high-quality milk and whey proteins, has achieved “Safe Quality Foods (SQF) Level II” Certification at their Mountain Lake, MN plant. MSG passed the site audit in December of 2013 with a top tier rating of excellent, a score achieved by a very small percentage of plants on their first audit.
With the SQF certification, our customers have confidence they are buying products that have passed this rigorous international food safety standard, recognized by the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI)). Since SQF is a recognized by retailers and food-service providers around the world, it can replace costly customer audits. Prior to their two day SQF audit, the Mountain Lake site worked diligently on food safety systems to ensure complete compliance to the SQF standards including – food safety and HACCP systems, documentation, laboratory practices. sustainable sanitation processes, Good Manufacturing Practices compliance, plant infrastructure integrity, employee training, and much more.
Milk Specialties Global is proud of this achievement, and has set a goal to have all food plants SQF certified by the end of 2015.
